Hubby's Gift Card Holder

After work, my hubby enjoys having a coffee while surfing the internet at our local coffee shop. I got him a gift card for some future java there, and this is the gift card holder I made for it. I also created an envelope for the gift card holder using SU!'s 5 in 1 envelope template. It fit the slider gift card holder perfectly! I ended up making 7 of the slider gift card holders for people on our gift list this year, so on Christmas eve I was busy making the envelopes for them to go into. I had first tried making a pillow box for it, but just didn't like the way it was folding, so I ended up settling for the envelope made from the template. I made two different designs - this one with the jumbo snowflake wheel, as well as another with the three snowflakes from Snow Swirled in Chocolate Chip, Ruby Red, and Old Olive ink, with the belly band in Chocolate Chip, Old Olive, and the Alpine originals striped ribbon. Didn't get a picture of that one, unfortunately, before giving them away yesterday. Thanks for popping by today, and I hope you had a wonderful holiday!

Ornament Gift Card Holder

I just love this cute and fast to make gift card holder! It was designed by Cindy Manzanares, kinda like my 'grandma' in our stampin' team. Cindy's used the new silver elastic cord, but I didn't have any of that, so I grabbed my retired silver cord and it worked out great! The rest is a case of hers. I made three of them tonight. Baja Breeze paper and ink, as well as Whisper White, were used to create the ornament. I used the small circle from my Creative Memories cutting system, cutting a white and a blue circle using the blue blade. I cut the smaller blue circle using the same circle, but with the red blade. A large felt flurry works great for this cute gift card holder. The snowflake on the build-a-brad is from the Snow Swirled set. Thank you, Cindy, for sharing this with us at our team meeting!

Christmas Tags

Haven't had too much time to be creative this weekend, but I did finally get some tags made. I bought this set, Tags for All, last year and had hoped to make some tags with it, but it never happened. Tonight while taking a break from doing some work around the house, I sat down and made these tags. My favorite is the snowmen tag. They remind me of the snowman in the Holiday Tag Team set, which is my all-time favorite Stampin' Up! snowman. Now I can finish wrapping some presents. I still have gift card holders to make, but I have some great ideas from our team swap last month! I can't believe Christmas is a few short days away now. I'm not ready yet!!

Simple Christmas Card

I finally remembered to scan this simple Christmas card that I made last month. I had originally started with a Chocolate Chip card base, but liked it much better after switching to Real Red. The card features the Ski Slope DSP, Little Felt Flurries, Filigree Brads, a non-SU! clear rhinestone brad, and Real Red card stock. This is one of the three cards the ladies were able to make at my stamp camp earlier this month. I'm looking forward to being on vacation soon so I can have some time to create projects to share with the gals at work. Now if I can only finish up my own Christmas cards and get them sent out before the big day arrives!!

Cupcake Card

I mentioned a while back that one of my coworkers, Darla, and I were doing a 2 week long enrichment class. Darla shared two projects with the kids this last week, and the cupcake card was really cute! She found the tutorial here along with a pattern you can print out to make one yourself. Darla enlarged the pattern a bit as we weren't worried about having the kids put the card in an envelope, and overall the kids did a nice job on the card. I brought along my Cuttlebug and the few embossing folders I had, and several of the kids took advantage to add some texture to their cupcakes. I trained one of the girls to use the Cuttlebug, and she had a blast being in charge of it so I could help others. Friday was a 'finish what you are working on because today's the last day', so while the kids were working, I had a chance to quickly cut out and assemble one! So fun to make, especially using the Cuttlebug embossing folders. I've had the Cuttlebug for nearly a year now, and this is the first time I've really used it. I need to use it more often!! Have a great rest of your weekend!

Holiday Cupcake Class

Our youngest and I took a Holiday Cupcakes class at the Cooking Store here in town. We've been to a few kids cooking classes there over the past year, and thought this one sounded like fun. Our chef, Linda, showed us how to add filling to cupcakes, as well as demonstrated several ways to ice them. Then came the fun part - decorating! Chef Linda demonstrated several cute ideas for us, then it was our turn to decorate! We started with four cupcakes to decorate, and then had the opportunity to do a couple more if we wanted to. Everyone commented on how beautiful my daughter's cupcakes turned out, and I have to admit, she did a better job than I did! It was fun spending some quality time together, and we'll have fun together again in January when we take the next kids class with Chef David. The theme is Bugz! and should be fun! The kids class always features a beverage, entrees, and a dessert, so I'm sure it will be lots of fun!

Christmas Card Stamp Camp

We had a great time at my Christmas card stamp camp after school yesterday. Several of my coworkers were able to join me, including Laura's daughter, Maddy, who is one of my former students! Holly, who moved over to our 9th grade campus this year also joined us, and she brought her mom along, so we had eight of us in all. They made six cards and two gift card holders. On the cards, I gave them the option of stamping six of one design, three of two designs, or two of three designs (one of which was the Joy Card I posted earlier this week, the second was one I haven't posted yet, and the last was the embossed Snow Swirled Christmas tree card I made for our team Christmas Card swap back in September). For the gift card holders, we made the Holiday Treasures slider card I posted earlier this week, as well as the Ski Slope window gift card holder I made for our team gift card holder swap in November. I always enjoy getting together with my coworkers, and I hope to do it again in January - Valentine's Day cards, perhaps!

Joy Card

Last night while checking some of my favorite stamping blogs, I ran across a post with a wreath made using the Three for You punch flowers (on Adela's blog, here). She used a 1 1/4 inch circle punch in Old Olive, then punched out a scallop circle over that. She then punched out Old Olive and Kiwi Kiss flowers and glued them on to the scallop circle ring. I tried this technique tonight and loved how easy it was to put together! It might be hard to see, but the card base is Whisper White with Old Olive on top. Ruby Red, stamped with Canvas in Ruby Red, and Holiday Treasures DSP finish off the card. Thanks for coming by today!

Slider Gift Card Holder

One of the projects during our gift card holder swap that we made at my upline's on Sunday was a cute slider card. I loved Jeanne's project, and since I have a stamp camp coming up on Friday afternoon, I thought it would be fun for the ladies to make one! Here's a quick look at the slider gift card holder that I made using one of my favorites, Stampin' Up!'s beautiful Holiday Treasures designer paper. You just attach a gift card to the left panel, and you have a cute gift card holder! I love these! Too cute! I'll definitely be making more of these!
